I heard that other actor totally blew brad pitt out of the water acting wise.... christof waltz i believe is his name.
Waltz's character is amazingly evil. I wouldn't say he blew Brad Pitt out of the water though. The only person I had a hard time taking seriously was Mike Myers, otherwise the acting was awesome all around.

well he was in the movie for about 5 minutes. So that wasnt that bad... overall the movie was wonderful. I dont think its his best movie which alot of people are saying. But its def in the top three. Its gonna take a lot to upstage pulp fiction and resevoir dogs.

It was definitely better than Reservoir Dogs [which I love], but you're right about Pulp Fiction.

no way was it better than reservoir dogs. I probably have a soft spot in my heart for it because that was my first quentin movie i ever saw. I just think its so original.

I watched Zerkalo (Mirror) by Tarkovsky. It was actually my first time watching a Tarkovsky movie. It has a lot of creative visual images. The most intrapersonal and deepest movie I've ever seen, as it's really hard and tiring to watch! I forced myself not to sleep as well... Director Tarkovsky has his own different perception.

                  year one.

i don't understand the hate for this movie. i almost avoided it because of all the negative reviews, but i ended up laughing more than i did at the hangover, which i thought was vastly overrated, sans galifianakis.

I haven't seen either, but I would watch Year One way before the Hangover. The Hangover is just from a genre of comedy that I find very unwitty and predictable. There doesn't seem to be much thought involved in any of the jokes. David Cross is in Year One, on the other hand. That alone will ensure that I see it one day. I doubt he has a big part, though.

Speaking of David Cross, I finally watched Waiting For Guffman last weekend. Good stuff. I was disappointed in how little Cross was in the movie, but that's a minor complaint. I'll give it 4 wet farts out of 5.

                    Also:

Hard Candy - holy crap that was a really good movie. Ellen Page was great. The tension in the movie was amazing. I figured I would like it, but I had no idea that it would be so good. I give it 5 wet farts out of 5.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Way better than I expected. I heard so many talk about how horrible it was and how much it bastardized the storyline, but it was way better than any of the first 3. If you want to talk about bastardizing the storyline, look at what they did with the Pheonix saga. That was a damn shame. Either way, X-Men has lasted as long as it has because of all of the multiple universes that have been created over the years. Anyway, Liev Schreiber was great as Victor Creed. He just pulled off the persona way better than Taylor Mayne. I didn't like the whole Weapon 11 thing with Deadpool (and Ryan Reynolds was an odd pick for the character), but I can look past it. I give it 3 wet farts out of 5.
I don't have the time it takes to recover from the day
I sit and moan and mope and groan and never have my say
A crown of thorns from which is born a little baby bird
To fly away and have its day is nothing but absurd

I'm not going to mention Year One. I have done my best to block that from my mind since I saw it. Just finished The Haunted World of El Superbeasto. Pretty entertaining movie for what it is.

I watched The Bridge, about the people that jump off the Golden Gate Bridge. I'm fascinated with thing I don't understand (like suicide) and loved listening to the interviews with families and eye-witnesses. The saddest part was the build up to the final jumper. You got to know this guy over a course of an hour and a half and he sounded like the kind of friend everyone has, then you watch the guy leap off the bridge into the water. There isn't much conclusion, but it's still interesting.

The Bankjob was a heck-of-a-lot better than i thought it was going to be. Hip, fun, and smart, the way bank robbery films are supposed to be.

i recently saw capitalism: a love story. it was interesting. however, it still falls into the same problems that moore has. namely, his lack of critical analysis of the democratic party, especially when it came to obama; he portrayed obama as the messiah. i really enjoyed his use of religion, however.

i saw the bridge a couple years ago after drew mentioned it. i love movies/documentaries that deal with the human psyche. fascinating yet morbid movie.

recently saw cold souls with paul giamatti. solid movie. smart, dark comedy with a thought-provoking plot.

it might get loud was interesting. nothing awe-inspiring, but there was some good insight into the thought processes of three very different guitarists. some good music thrown in there as well.

saw where the wild things are today. a simple, visually stunning movie for everyone. enjoyed it much.

precious - if your life sucks this is a good wake up call that it could be worse. mo'nique definitely deserves best supporting actress in my mind. mariah carey was a nice surprise, and the lead girl was nothing more than perfect. really good acting from everyone actually.

the road - pretty much exactly what i expected. viggo was great, the kid was ok, the "cameos" were good. the imagery was cool, but you just can't outdo a great book. i would have liked this a lot more without already reading cormac mccarthy's novel.

bad lieutenant - this just makes you mad that nick cage chooses to do such crappy movies when he can pull off things like this. i absolutely loved this flick, and his character. i wish he'd be more selective with his roles, but as long as he keeps coming out with movies like this, adaptation, leaving las vegas, etc. every few years then guess i'm okay with it.

the cove - this movie just made me mad. and helpless. ugh. watch it.

the carter - fascinating look into the world of lil wayne. his work ethic is relentless, but you get the idea that it's just probably not going to end well for him. interesting watch.

soldiers of conscience - a look at both sides of the conscientious objector argument. it was nothing spectacular, but it was nice to hear differing opinions of people who have been in the situation.

                                fish tank - good movie.

antichrist - whoa. deep and disturbing.

skin - well-told true story. sam neil owns it.

breaking the waves - brushing up on some lars von trier. the lead actress was phenomenal.

disgrace - i love john malkovich. this movie just reinforces that.

9 - it was ok for a darker type of kid's movie.

owning mahowny - strange true story. phillip seymour hoffman makes it worth watching.

my left foot - greatly inspiring true story. daniel day lewis turns in the performance of a lifetime, except he does that every time he makes a movie.

the hurt locker - jeremy renner was fantastic. my favorite movie of the year so far. hands down.

                                can you tell i'm unemployed?
