I finally got this today, and I'm not entirely sure what certain people aren't hearing, but I'm loving this EP. Not as much as the Kaddisfly records, but that's because it's not meant to be compared to the Kaddisfly records. This is a separate body of work, from 4 of the people who happened to be involved in Kaddisfly. At least that's how I see it. Kind of the way that Stephen Brodsky's solo records are so different from Cave In's records. Excited for a full-length.

now…..we’ve been demoing stuff in the basement and thats been a joy. ideas and layers and more “production” then the EP….thats what im thinking. the goal: sound as much like steely dan as possible. recording wise. and i suppose song wise as well. alright!

nope, these songs are from Sept. '08. They are the songs they did for Atlantic, and subsequently Atlantic signed Circa Survive over them. not getting back together at all, just old news. also, this is from a time period when they were in-limbo and weren't sure if they were remaining Kaddisfly or not. The songs are done as a 4-piece with Kelsey on bass.
