So...we have a recently heard albums thread, and a recntly seen movies thread, why not try a recently read books/ good magazine article thread?

I just started on David Sedaris' (yes, Amy Sedaris', of Strangers With Candy, brother) When You Are Engulfed in Flames.

james joyce's a portrait of the artist as a young man and rereading manchester's A World Lit Only By Fire (it's separated into : the medieval mind, the shattering of catholic total rule by mainly Luther, and a fucking big chunk on Magellan...highly recommended).

Reading Ron Paul's The Revolution: A Manifesto and Chuck Palahniuk's Rant right now.

I'm enjoying both very much!

Rant was my second favorite of Palahniuk's books, Invisible Monsters being the first. I haven't read a book of his I didn't like though.

I've discovered Jeffrey Brown, and I'm reading all of his autobiographical comics. Of the Girlfriend series, I've read Clumsy, Be a Man, and Unlikely. I've also read These Little Things. I love this guy.

Currently reading Raymond E. Feist's Magician: Apprentice. It is my introduction into the realm of fantasy books, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

The Book Thief.. by someone or another... i forget. It's alright, the narration is fabulous, can't say much about the actual story though (wafflecore)

Italian authors... Leopardi (Essays and Dialogues), Luigi Pirandello (6 Characters in search of an Author---its a short play, very interesting...also made into a movie)

I looked up this book, sounds very interesting....hope i can find it in ebook for (not the kindle though).
