I just watched a speech by Shelby Steele on BookTV and he made sense. It's like . . . Armageddon or something in my brain.

I'm watching white people dance to unintimidating Motown and Sly Stone at the Democratic National Convention, while talking on their cell phones.

                Yay! :-)

I'm now watching John Legend front the Agape choir. It's purty. Something about "being the change that we want to see." So Obama is our Gandhi now?

Aww, I'm trying not to be cynical.

Oh God, this teenage girl is singing a horrible song, very horribly. But everyone in the audience seems to know this song . . . even the white folks.

Obama is very, very, very, very far from Malcolm X, Auto.

As far as I know, the current administration has not outlawed dreams. Of course, there are traitorous, anti-American dreams (i.e., anti-war, clean environment, health care), but none are outlawed as of yet.

Of course, Cheney and Rove are--as I type this--working with AT&T to figure out a way to wiretap them. The Democrats have already approved this. Though they were troubled by it all the same.

I just watched Shortbus. It's extremely good. The acting and directing are superb. Highly recommended.

It's the first non-porn film I've ever seen in which people actually have sex and real orgasms.

Absolutely, and I'm sorry if I gave the impression otherwise.

James broke my heart over and over, and his relationship was very poignant.

I also kind of felt sorry for Rob having to watch his wife finally come with another couple. I mean, it's not his fault that she was lying to him for so long. Straight men are usually portrayed as clueless and weak (or worse) in gay films, though.

The last scene was kind of stupid. What the hell was going on with that band? Why?
