You can get an equivalent PC for 1/4 of the price (with Windows) or even cheaper with Linux.

I just prefer Mac because I'm a graphic designer and I like the stability. I most definitely refuse to use vista. What a pile of crap. I can't afford a MacPro so I went with the iMac. I'm upgrading the ram myself to cut back on spending as much.

Have you actually used Vista? I've had absolutely zero problems in the almost 2 years I've had it. Microsoft and Vista have gotten a really bad name based off the minority having issues.

Macs aren't all that great. General use - awesome; Graphic work - fine; video work - okayish; audio work - sucks.

With vista, I spent more time doing 'disc checks' and clicking 'yes - I fucking want to do this operation' than doing anything productive. Also, hella slow, considering I was using this on a dual core with loads of ram.

I would love to run Linux, sadly the software I use is not available for the operating system.

Turning off the approval thing does make vista a more streamlined and logical working evironment. Or any faster. The problem is the bloated and slow op system. Xp was better imo.
