It was originally named Braindead, but for the us release they had to rename it because there's already an american movie called Brain dead
That's the cover it has on my version, without the annoying picture of peter jackson at the top

yeah, braindead's uncut too...dead alive has like 20 minutes missing. stupid censors. even the unrated version is cut quite a bit. braindead is worth it just for the complete lawnmower scene.
jackson's first film is another good splatter-comedy worth checking out.
