Stacking up on Red Bull and No-Doz is healthier than a cigarette for truckers. And I regularly work 80-90 hour weeks and still don't smoke. You don't think that's stressful, working close to 12 hour workdays without much of a break?

All cigarettes would do is kill my inability to breathe during those 90 hours of hell.

        This is false.
As soon as you're addicted to cigarettes, you will need cigarettes to get back at the average stress level you had before. It might feel like they're relieving stress, but they're only relieving the stress they create by you being addicted to them.

It's the same with caffeine. As soon as you're "hooked" to coffee, you'll need coffee to be at the same alert level as you was before being addicted

        - I do realize this didn't have much to do with your point but I thought it's worth noting
