Bottom line - El Cielo is their masterpiece. The Pariah is dredg at the peak of their powers. This album is a quick experiment. IMHO.

I'm looking forward to seeing how these songs sound live and of course, future albums. This is not a band to give up on though. As long as they're creating, I'm in.

Christ. Here are my problems:

First indication: Bland-fucking ugly artwork '
2.Where are the real drums and guitars?!
3. Way too repetitive! Hip hop record?
4. Dan the Automater.
5. If it wasn't Dredg I'd completely loath it.

Positive:
1. Love Thought of Losing you and the Ornament.
2. Like Sun Goes Down and Laughing

This cd is an immense disappointment. Hopefully its out of their system and they can go back to being the Dredg we all know and love. I hate being so negative to one of my top 5 bands but this is bad. The Tent is the worst dredg song of all time.

After about a week of listening, I can pretty easily say that it's a disappointment. Overall, I'd say it's enjoyable with a few rough spots, but... that's not something I'm used to with dredg. I really do think this is just a quick experiment and they will be back to their old ways in the near future. I'm not complaining, though. I really dig a few songs on here, and they've already released four amazing albums.

Yeah gotta look on the bright side. We've been spoiled with amazing albums thus far, nobody is perfect. Their next album will be back to amazing dredg.

I always thought that Pariah was a mix of El Cielo and CWA, so maybe the next record will be a mix of Pariah and Chuckles. I'd take a more traditional sounding dredg album with electronic elements mixed in.

EDIT: This isn't me being a dick about the album. I am a huge fan of this release. I seriously think, though, that that video is the perfect joke version of what they did. And it just FITS.

EDIT THE SECOND: Drew at 2:39 fucking destroys me every time I see/hear that. So god damn funny!
