and thankfully Cargo and Tulo both signed 7 year contracts during the off-season. Ubaldo has said that he always wants to be a Rockie, but I guess the management just saw an opportunity to get some good minor leaguers. Most people are saying the Indians got the bad end of this deal but I guess we'll have to see. People were pissed when Holliday got traded, but we got Street, a fairly consistent closer, and Carlos Gonzales a huge part of our batting. Hopefully this deal ends up being similar.
How many dredg fans does it take to change a lightbulb?
Seven. One to change it, five to complain that the old one was better, and one talk about Gavins weight.
Oh man, I remember the Holliday trade.... I love Street and CarGo, but I really loved Holliday.

I am just happy that I got to see Ubaldo win at Yankees Stadium. I talked my partner into it, and if the Rockies play the Red Sox while we are living here, we will head up to Fenway to see the game.

Grew up in Odessa, MO. Small town about 30 minutes outside KC on I-70. Hence, I'm a total Royals and Chiefs fan. It's a tortured, small-market life, but it's who I am.
I love KC. I miss the BBQ and Boulevard beer especially. Hard to get good BBQ out here on the East Coast. You're out there for work, right?

I got a ball autographed by the Royals when I was a kid. It was pretty sweet.
Nice. I had a number of those growing up. When your team is terrible, they give away free crap to kids all the time. Makes for a cheap MLB game though, which is especially nice given how nice Kaufman stadium is. Buck Nights (dollar hot dogs, peanuts, and drinks) are the best.

It was an autographed ball from genuine ball players. I knew nothing of the team. It was not until a number of years later that I realized that they were terrible. Weren't they playing some pretty good ball to start the season?

Yeah that Phillies series was rough. I just want to at least finish over 500. Like Jim Tracy said, it's all about short term goals at this point. Get to 500, work towards second place (perhaps over the Giants? proabbly not but the D-backs are doing pretty good).
We've always done good against the Nats at coors field so I predict we'll win, and maybe even sweep this series. I'm looking forward to another Sweeptember and Rocktober at 20th and Blake like 07. Oh those were the days.

Well, it is the Nats.... I would like to see the Rox play spoiler. I do not have much hope, but I love them. There is so much talent on that team. We just need pitchers....again...before Tulo and CarGo retire....

You have clearly never been to Tennessee, Georgia or the Carolinas. Top notch BBQ there as well.
And Boulevard Wheat is amazing.

And yes, work brought me to the midwest.
