I'm pretty sure the last three albums they've released were all recorded in Basement Studios. Who knows?

                Long time viewer, infrequent poster.

This is awesome. I've been dying for new music and every time I make a list of bands I want to check out, I lose it. Now it's here! Thank you so much!

Also, people may be tired of this, but I was intrigued by the Incubus discussion.
I like Morning View. I think the album has a nice cohesive identity, but only really in the middle (wish you were here -> echo).

I don't understand how people can discount A Crow Left of the Murder. It doesn't end strong, but I think it contains some of the tightest music they ever made. You can really tell how much the album reinvigorated Mike Einziger's guitar playing in tracks like A Crow Left of the Murder, Pistola and Sick Sad Little World. He achieves complete mastery over his playing style - rock/jazz riffs and chords with the ability to kick out a heavy chorus and absolutely shred a solo while also being able to utilize his pedals better than nearly everyone. He achieves an amazing range of sound and skill that he just did not have in the earlier albums.

Pasillas definitely takes his drumming to another level and Boyd does an incredible job utilizing his maturing voice and comes up with some awesome lyrics. Plus Ben Kenney lends himself very well as a bassist with serious chops- listen to the interlude in the title track and to the solo during Pistola, for example.

I think they took the aggressiveness of SCIENCE and Make Yourself and combined it with their maturing mastery over their respective instruments and creative abilities that they began to explore in Morning View. Every time I listen to it I find something that impresses me - from each member of the band (except DJ Kilmore...)
