I'm 18 and still learning.  I got mad because she hurt me and my immediate reaction was to spit in her face.  I since apologized to her and we're fine now ... .  

that's the same logic used by most abusive spouses. 18 is precocious enough to know that your first reaction should not be to denigrate your partner. once you do something like that your relationship can never be considered "fine" again. someone needs to talk to her into leaving you.
