didn't knew that about the quality thing on zip files.

a zip file would be okay i guess and much better since its not going to take you a long while to upload that bootleg.

    thanks for your help man

Re: New York, NY - Highline Ballroom

Adding it to my server as we speak, but my upload speed is kinda slow at the moment. I am putting both a zip of the show and a folder if you want to download all separately. All files are lossless m4a. Will post link when folder is done, then zip when that's done.

Zip's still got a while left.

ZIP is a lossless data compression, so ZIPing up MP3s will have no effect on the quality when unZIPed.

Again, I suck at quoting. But you all can figure it out.

Re: New York, NY - Highline Ballroom

That is true, but either way, I'm not encoding them to mp3, as it was originally posted as FLAC files and I'm not turning it lossy to be thrown all over the interwebz like that. I have respect for tapers.

Only reason I re-encoded them to lossless m4a as opposed to keeping FLAC was to be able to play them in iTunes.

Oh, and the zip file is still over 500MB, so you all know. 20 more minutes on it.

Oh, I just assumed they were MP3 in the first place. The comment was not directed towards you.

                Didn't think you were.

                ZIP: http://axiom712.co.cc/dredg/20110519.zip <- 478MB

                Enjoy!

Hah, thanks for that! I actually got the FLACs all zipped and onto mega-upload, only to figure out that the file was still 1.01GB...meaning that only Premium users could d/l it. Ugh...

Thanks those who informed me about ziping. I always assume the compression would affect the audio file. I too want to respect the tapers and the quality they've chosen/offered.

How'd you do they flac to m4a conversion? I had to fiddle with itunes to get it to play the .flac files, and it's definitely been a bit screwy (super loud, runs really slow, etc.). I'm trying to find a good utility right now and everything seems a bit dodgy.

                  Man, I feel like such a n00b.

                  ---

Nevermind. Looks like XLD is the utility I was looking for. Much better now!

If anyone still wants the original flac files, let me know and I'll try to figure something out.

There is no point to use megaupload anymore. If there's anything you want to share with the forum, send it to me and I'll put it on my server. Easy peezy.

Maybe you can upload original FLAC files to dredg page on archive.org?
Would be nice addition to that collection.
