I know this is somewhat silly saying this, but think I met you before or after the Dredg gig at Download festival 2006. Unless there happened to be another guy there with the change symbol tattoo in the relevant place, haha. I seem to recall you mentioning something about seeing them in Amsterdam, or being there near to that time. Otr I may just be going mental and lost it completely hehe. <---- If so I will blame that on recently traversing the marathon and partial impossible situation of having a newborn daughter and completing qualifications.

What a great show! Young Guns supported, sounded like they were destined to be a support band; not BAD but certainly not good. dredg setlist (very very loose order):

Just got home after the 'mini stalker' tour of both UK dates...feck me, that was good!!!! I'll post seperately on the Cardiff gig, but last night was perfection...totally and utterly that!! What really got me was the level of accuracy that the guys looked to reproduce live- nothing is overlooked down to the slightest click or pop. Gavin really is a mavellous front man now and his vocals are spot on- just wish the guy would SMILE occasionally if only to let us know HE'S enjoying it too!!!!

Setlist was great, just wish they'd have included 'Information' and 'Pebbles' - Information was on the Cardiff list but was replaced with Jamais Vu.

Thought Young Guns were really good- they were on my 'to see if wet' at Download -which it wasn't - so it was a nice surprise to see them last night. Considering they've only been together for 18 months, there is some decent potential there- and I certainly wouldn't say they were 'Destined to be a support band' as someone else posted though I would say that they were a bit of an uncomfortable fit for a Dredg crowd (At least a UK dredg crowd).

Gavin said they'd be back in the fall...fantastic news.. lets hope they play some shows further north this time.

@cribble: Dime is easy to use, full of friendly people, and torrents live longer than on most other sites. If you have problems registering, try around 4-5 am European time. Shouldn't take more than a couple refreshs to get you registered.

As there is no thread for the Cardiff gig...

The venue is decent enough, but talk about SMALL.. the stage at London was bigger than the entire building here!! 200 capacity- it probably wasn't too far off that. Things didn't start well- technical difficulties stopped them as they were about to launch into the first song. Gavin looked ill at ease all night with his in-ears and there was to-ing and fro-ing all night behind Drew's set up. All that considered it was fine gig- sound was pretty good and the band were in top gear as they went into the penultimate song, only for the gremlins to return with a complete back line power outage - cue Gavin jumping off the stage looking for someone to kill!!!

So a strange end... Drew was outside tyalking and signing...most people seemed to be from 'somewhere' other thasn Cardiff and many were, like us, heading over for night 2 in London

Oh, don't get me wrong..it was hardly a fail- if you grab the show and listen to it, you'll find they sounded great- they just didn't look at ease with their tackle (oo-errr) all night but apart from the very beginning and very end, it held together ok... Gavin wrecked his slide guitar strings on 'The Canyon..' with a little help from Dino they battered the crap out of them with drumsticks!!

My daughter was right down at the front and I think she got a couple of decent pics - I'll post them if they are ok.

Hey DuncanG.. are you the Duncan who has recorded Oceansize gigs at various southern shows??
