from PT-Weeds
Hi,
As stated last week, the ban on trading recordings of concerts from
the 'Arriving Somewhere...' tour, featuring material from 'Fear Of A
Blank Planet', ends when the new album is released. At the time of
writing, that should be in mid-April. No restriction on
recording/trading future concerts has been agreed.
Thanks for your patience!

The band have started to make available high quality live recordings on their own Transmission label, and these are all mixed from properly recorded multitrack tapes. While the band are aware that private tape trading does go on, they will be extremely pissed off to find anyone selling (or auctioning on Ebay) live recordings on CDR or other media for personal profit!!"
SoundscapeMN: The "No restriction on recording/trading future concerts has been agreed." part in your quote has never been posted on PT-Weeds. Where do you have it from? The moderator's message there was rather:
"Hi all,
To answer an enquiry received off-list (or which should have been,
anyway), and as a general reminder:

There's no ban on trading Blackfield recordings, new or otherwise.

He was just "talking" about the trading status of new recordings on the PT Weeds group from the day of the album release, not more, not less. PT won't ever be taper friendly again, but they tolerate private trading as long as no money is exchanged between parties.

and he later emailed me back when I asked specifically what the band's feeling on taping is. atleast in regards to PT-Weeds:
Hi again,
I don't think the band would ever publicly support recording; the best
we can expect is for them to 'turn a blind eye'.
The trading ban is specific to PT-Weeds, but was requested and agreed
by Andy Leff personally - it is acknowledged by the band/management
that recording and trading will *discretely* restart once the album is
out.

so, but more of the point is..the band hasn't CHANGED THEIR STANCE on taping..all they did was emphasize the desire and policing of it on the ARRIVING SOMEWHERE Tour..and the band's feeling on it is THE EXACT SAME AS IT WAS before that tour.
but more of the point is, taping has and will go on..anyway, so there is really no reason to look at the band ANY DIFFERENT than you did before. You want PT recordings..they will be out there still.

But who cares? I'm looking forward to taping them for the 6th, 7th and maybe 8th time this year.
