I agree about that entirely, if the band is smart they'd do that asap. I'd imagine that these delays mean that they are having to go through more and more layers of folks and thusly the album is more like to get pinched and leaked. just a good way to make sure folks will buy it. hell, it could help them raise money to further improve the artwork. something that indie bands should start doing a lot more. releasing the cd in mp3 form for cheap, but with a coupon that makes the hard copy cheaper when it's finished. it's a good linear way of funding and promoting an album

That's true as well. Could be a number of things at this point.

But a digital download is really the way to do things these days. Downloading leaks isn't just about money, it's about convenience. These days, the more convenient it is, the more willing people are to shell out the cash.

that shouldn't be a factor... if it was mixed poorly, spending more on mastering wouldn't fix that.

though-- it could be pushed back due to needing funds to master it... supposing it's not mastered yet.

I would only say that depending on dredg's contract with ILG and the way their situation is set up, their hands may be tied as far as a digital download goes. Only they would know the stipulations of what is and isn't allowed as far as getting the record out there is concerned.
