I think my last video is more enjoyable. And I'll bet it didn't scare Starving.

No yours didn't scare me. But I find that style of playing boring. There and only a couple of players who use it that I've found interesting, and with that only a couple of songs. Takes a ton of skill to pull it off well... just doesn't thrill me much.

I agree.. The guy is amazingly talented, and i respect him quite a bit, but when he writes in the description
"It just goes to show that when you strip down a song that is so mainstream and heavily produced, there still remains all the ingredients for a fantastic piece of music. "
I just think no! It shows that no matter what you play in that style, it sounds bland, boring, and exactly the same as everything else played in that style

Starving and Buddy, I think it's because I can't play an instrument and have no creative ability whatsoever that I'm impressed by things like that. He's so young, and he completely rearranged the song. And he can play so well. That impresses me enormously.

It's more of a different strokes for different folks kind of thing. The guy has got a lot of control over his playing and I find that very impressive. But the style is one that can really blend in with itself... if you don't like it. If you like that style than your probably going to like most songs played in it.

Erik Mongrain is definitely the man when it comes to that style, but it bores me very quickly.
