Since you brought up Caspians' Tertia, kata, I'm surprised you didn't bring up what is, in my opinion, the best thing associated with Mylene Sheath at the moment - The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist. Not only is it Junius' peak to date, it's also the best dark rock release I've heard since I was first getting into Interpol in 2002. Having said that....
Best album: The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist
I'll also go out on a limb here and say that the latest Thursday album, Common Existence, is just as good as Full Collapse.

Thanks for the heads up.. This is pretty great. Had no idea they had released a new album
I've always felt that A City by the Light Divided would have been a pretty good album was it not for the horrible mastering job, making the whole thing clip like mad..

I'm not trying to derail this thread, but your comment made me think of the album again. I like several songs on that album, but I can see what you mean. My fav's on the album (yeah, I know a few are rarely mentioned anywhere):
The Other Side of the Crash/Over and Out (Of Control)
Counting 5-4-3-2-1
Sugar in the Sacrament
At This Velocity
We Will Overcome (those are the first five in album order)
The Lovesong Writer
Autmn Leaves Revisited
Even the Sand Is Made of Seashells (b-side)
The clipped, tinny sound of many tracks doesn't bother me too much because the notable songs are strong enough to make up for it. It's too bad that album has a bad rep. because of the way it's mixed, etc. It really is great. At this point, my 2 favorite Thursday albums (in no order) are A City by the Light Divided and Common Existence. Full Collapse is right behind.
For the record, Michael McDonald isn't on Veckatimest. And god forbid people listen to music that isn't shit. Btw...Wavves, I still don't get why this is popular. Oh and the Weezer thing is pretty true.

I like it, but not enough to get thrown up there, however the vinyl packaging is fucking sweet.
Also, I just started listening to If These Trees Could Talk and have already re-thought my list.

The only thing I know about Thursday is that Geoff Rickly helped Murder By Death breakthrough. That's enough to make me like him.
I don't have the time it takes to recover from the day
I sit and moan and mope and groan and never have my say
A crown of thorns from which is born a little baby bird
To fly away and have its day is nothing but absurd
I browsed once and almost flamed you for not including Mew. I think it should be higher, but at least it was included. You should check out Night is the New Day by Katatonia before you finalize your list.

Barney,
naturally, I found a lot of familiar names on your list from mine. Of course many ranked higher and lower. But it's good to notice some lesser discussed groups like Long Distance Calling and even 100Ft Snowman. Such a shame they are in-effect broken up. They really deserve better.
Some of the unknowns of course on your list I'm curious about. You tend to be high on post music, which I'm kind of particular about. Are there any among these that you think may be worth checking out especially beyond how you ranked them?
You know, i'm the other way on this- when I was compiling my end of year lists, there was just so many albums I thought on first hearing 'Top 20, for sure' that are way down in the 100's!! There is a lot of over-hyped stuff, for sure - biggest example I can come up with is the new 30 Seconds To Mars album - talk about every song sounding the sodding same!! That's a real shame as I loved thier first album and had heard so many good things about this one

I've cut 'n pasted the 'post-ish' kind of stuff for you below
