Soundscape, have you listened to Clues yet? They seem up your alley.

      ...Creed is on that list.
And so is Daughtry.. thought I'd be taking WAAAY more shit for that!!!

This Creed album is really good, though if it fucks about with anything Alter Bridge related, I won't be happy.

The Katatonia album is indeed very good, but for that kind of music, I just think the new Swallow The Sun tops it - it's very close though -I've been lucky enough to see both bands perform live on multiple occasions this year and they really are fantastic live too.

There is a lot of over-hyped stuff, for sure - biggest example I can come up with is the new 30 Seconds To Mars album - talk about every song sounding the sodding same!! That's a real shame as I loved thier first album and had heard so many good things about this one

Barney, What sorta killed it for me about their new album is the background crowd participation on almost all the songs. The album would've been great without all the background noise.

randomly I believe between on college radio and I am pretty sure I saw their name on sordo sometime within the last year and recall not being as impressed by their myspace enough to grab the upload. But maybe I should give them another go now?

Absolutely.. that's the thing that jumped off the disc at me too.. you are just waiting for that 'We Are The world' style choir to come in that makes everything sound exactly the same.

Wish I'd got to hear this one before I'd finished my list

Loss Of A Child - Carry Me Home

'Carry Me Home' is the 5th Loss of a Child release and is their most expansive yet, a deeply layered album with flowing and interwoven melodies; contrasting...

Soundscape.. think you might like this one too

Free (legal) download with all kinds of alternate versions too - their earleir work is really good too

Really? I think they've got better with each release- too early to say this one is their best but on three listens, it sounds up there with their last one.

This Siren you speak of- what's the title? MySpace link? The only Siren I know is an awful band who've releaswed an album recently called 'Spawn'...surely, you don't mean this ine?

Outside of needing to give Common Existence more time, I'm in agreement. Also, War All The Time is right behind Full Collapse.

THIS is why I really like these end of year lists... three artists I'd never even heard before reading this...The Protomen especially...just had this album on constant rotation today!!!
