yeh.  i'm 99% sure rescue was a limited run and is sold out.

i've heard that explosions will be coming to the west coast later in the year

& as far as the touring of bands go, i'm going to have to side with gnomad on this one...it should be expected for bands to play in their home states more than others....to get pissed about it is kinda lame.  if you can't wait to see a band, or if they're doing something special at a home town venue, where they have the connections to do that, then take a trip out there n' see em.  obviously not a possibility for everyone...but it's possible if you save n' work for it.

shrug....guess we should just get back on topic....

i know that a lot of these explosions dates are going to be recorded.  i'm planning on filming the boston show, and i know of a few people that will be running audio that night, and the sound board is pretty accessible in this particular venue, so for those of you who can't see em, you will at some point if i can help it...

I feel your pain... minus the 3 hr drive. But there's rarely a concert worth driving 20 minutes to.

I saw Explosions in New Orleans.  They were good, but the show was pretty boring in all seriousness.  I was pretty disappointed.
I don't have the time it takes to recover from the day
I sit and moan and mope and groan and never have my say

To fly away and have its day is nothing but absurd

New Explosions in the Sky update for those that don't get it...

          Hi Everyone,

          Welcome to 2011.

We're excited (and a little nervous) to announce that on April 6th we'll be playing at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Radio City is one of the most legendary and beautiful theaters in the world, so we feel pretty honored and lucky. It's like some sort of absurd daydream come true for us. Anyway, we'll be playing a bunch of new songs so we hope some of you can make it out that night. If you're interested in tickets, please go here.

Speaking of new songs...as we'd mentioned previously, our new album will be coming out sometime this spring. We're anxious to get it out there into the world and we'll have more details about it in the next few weeks.

          Thanks for caring.

          Love,

          Explosions

EITS is a yawnfest. it is the sheer monotony that does me in. crescendos are cool when they are used sparingly, but that seems to be all their songs are anymore. it was great when they first came out. if they were to push the envelop of what guitars can do, like tom morrello used to do, then they would be worth it, or if they would return to the experimentalism of their contribution to the "travels in constants" series.

I'm sure I'd enjoy seeing them live a lot, but I'd still yawn like hell standing still for 2 hours listening to the same song being played over and over again

I might go a see them, as I love The Roundhouse in Camden, it's got lovely sound, but… I dunno… Godspeed Yawn! Black Yawnyawn has put me off wanting to see another post-rock show for a while… Maybe an album leak might force me over though.
