Now I'm in a pickle. My home computer has a bad video card and the screen is very dark. We don't have a wireless router so my laptop's connection (from my neighbor's house) has a very low signal strength. So now I have to wait until Sunday when I go back to school.

Well, I just got through watching it, and I have to say, very good job on Ben's part. However, the movie is one to watch once in a while...not anything to watch over and over again. What did very well was the intertwining of the people in the film, it really flowed nicely. The music was very good, of course, but it seemed to be too much; almost every scene contained a tune of sorts. A lot of times the best music is no music. All in all the movie is very good. I will definitely be purchasing it when it comes out on DVD. A definite must see.

Does anybody know much about the dvd release? Will I be able to find it say in a Best Buy or is it going to be more of an internet seller?

Don't fret, the movie will be made downloadable today, as Ben had told me.

Did you ever think, perhaps it seemed like music was too much because since you, and the rest of us, knew of the music before we even watched the movie? Maybe our brains simply "turned up" the volume of the score, because 1) we've all heard it before, so we knew the tune and anticipated the next note. or 2) we all love dredg and our minds really wanted to hear them.
you see, music is much louder if you focus on it.

                      thoughts?

San_greal, that was exactly what I thought, although I still think thefamousstik is right in that sometimes there were scenes that had music that I wouldn't have put there. I wasn't really going to mention it because of what you said - someone who came in part way through didn't think there was anything up with the music, so I assumed it was just me. What was fun was giving the tracks names appropriate to where they were in the film, as opposed to these stupid made up ones.

Overall I liked it, possibly enough to buy the DVD, but the camerawork was of the sort I don't like - up close and shakey. While anyone can argue about the merits of filming stuff like this, I don't care - I dislike it whenever it's used.

Was that a misplaced Deadwood review?

Depends on the movie for me. This one looked like it made sense for that kind of work because it seems very frantic and tense. Also the budget wasn't big enough to allow for wide shots where background stuff had to be set up and all that. Or I could just be giving too much credit. I should go watch this...

I'm about 50 minutes into it and loving it.
I'll watch the rest when I get home from work.
