4/21/06 NY Avalon show????

The Avalon was shut down over the weekend by NY police.

Just like the rest of you New Yorkers who had their heart set for this show, I'm freaking out. Does anyone have any idea or news as to what will happen? refund $ for tix, reschedule, venue switch etc??

ouch. that SUCKS! even if it is rescheduled it still sucks cause i'd just be flipping out!...sorry to all of you who have tickets for this show...hope it all turns out well!

"hi guys... word i got about avalon is that it will likely stay open for shows at the very least... they're dealing with the fines and whatnot this week, and they're optimistic that things will be fine... so this is in no way confirming that there will definitely be a show at avalon, but it's very likely... so no fears... i'll confirm as soon as i know for certain... thanks..."

wait, so the did members of the club sell the drugs, or did just random people in the club sell it. Because I don't think a club or any place should be held responsible for random people doing things that they don't know about. In that case every parking lot in America should be closed.

but the parking lots of america don't have people who should be checking people for drugs at the door.

also, it stated that there was sale of alcohol to minors...i'm assuming that's a big reason they were shut down too

yeah, these places should be held responsible, to at least a small extent, about what happens in their clubs. They should be checking for drugs, and most definitely should not be selling booze to minors

I mean, I REALLLLLLY want to see this show, but if the venue is sketchy - with drug sales and prostitution and all that other shaddy stuff (with shaddy people), for my own safety, I'd rather it not be there. but really, more than anything, I need to see this show haha.

The Avalon seems to still be booking shows (Mute Math will be there on May 22nd), so I'm assuming that the show is still on.
