  • sBach........8-bit prog rock.....

That's the best description I can come up with. If you like Battles, I highly recommend checking it out.

sBach is basically just Spencer Seim of Hella and The Advantage. I think he had a lot of fun with the Advantage and decided to take stylistic cues from the music of Nintendo. The composition is often fantastic and the Casio flavor is sweet.

Check out Track 9 (all track names are just their track number). There are some solid live videos out there.

The live show is, from what I understand, actually just The Advantage performing the sBach songs. On the album, Spencer played every instrument. In these videos, he's playing drums.

Track 2 is clearly a result of Spencer's time with The Advantage. I feel like I'm playing Nintendo....

Track 3 reminds me of Battles in a way.

Track 4 is a fantastic one. The general vibe reminds me of something from The Ocean and the Sun by The Sound of Animals Fighting

Track 5 is another NES-song-on-crack. The later half of the song reminds me of Rainbow by Battles.

Track 7 is a cool little syncopated, polyrhythmic party. One of my favorites.

Track 8 is another that reminds me of The Sound of Animals Fighting with the noisiness of it.

Track 9 is probably my favorite track. Total synth groove.

Track 10 is another busy number, but the short length keeps it doable for me.

Track 11 doesn't do a whole lot for me. Not bad. It just doesn't grab me like others.

Track 12 is boss level music.

Track 13 is the boss fight.

No problem, glad someone liked it. I've been borderline obsessed since I found that album.
