Anakin - Random Accessed Memories

So I recently got a copy of the first full length from the best band to come out of KC in a long time, Anakin. It's a must listen for fans of Hum, Failure, and other Shoegaze/Post Rock. Even has some Reggie and The Full Effect moments (Ars). I'd be betraying the trust of the social media face of the band by posting a link to the whole thing (which comes out on 01/03) but here's a teaser, and you can listen to more on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/anakinmusic. Just checked out the two full-length songs above, plus the samples on FB. Their sound grabbed my attention very quickly. Failure really is an excellent reference point for it.

I'll be sure to check out the record when it's released, but my first impression is this: they remind me of Amplifier in that I love their vibe, but feel the songs don't do quite enough to stick out from one another. Specifically, I'd love to see a few more "big choruses," perhaps. Or, at least, choruses with some sort of notable climax to stand apart from the relatively homogenous verses.
