my list would be quite smaller, but i agree with Aenima, White Pony, SCIENCE, and Korn's original. Ultraspank had potential and so did 40 Below. But they both squashed it and didn't evolve like SOAD and Deftones. The rest are just carbon copies of Deftones and Sepultura. The whole nu-metal genre was kind of sad to me. It's kind of like the emo-pop-scream-o thing going on right now where uninspired bands ride the coattails of Brand New, Glassjaw, and Taking Back Sunday. I actually liked and owned most of the albums you listed and probably would never listen any of them again purely because I can't enjoy them anymore. I just can't.

As for a list of other albums I enjoyed during that period, I'd say....

A lot of albums listed were/are good... whatever genre they're placed in.

i have been listening to lateralus a fuckton lately, and i'm sure this thread is partly to blame for reminding me that i don't listen to lateralus enough (which is to say that only a fuckton cubed would be an acceptable amount of listening to lateralus).

I have the beautifully crafted vinyl lateralus, but no working record player

not that I'd play it on the record player if I had one, seeing how that'd just wear it down

Almost two different bands really. But there was an EP released with the original lineup (3 different songs, including the amazing "Swing This," and two songs from the first LP).
I wish Andy hadn't droppped the mic after establishing his post-Apex band VOkEE. That was some good stuff. Now he's back on drums in some new project.
And speaking of both Apex Theory and nu-metal (although I don't think they classify), the singer from Alien Ant Farm and the bassist from Apex were working on material together late last year. Wonder if it will surface?
