The first time I saw dredg was opening for Deftones. People were lined up outside for hours. Well, it really got my attention to see Chi out walking through the crowd greeting everyone. He was friendly and approachable like Dino and Drew. I guess I had always assumed he was a bit more serious than he really is.I don't have the time it takes to recover from the day

I've seen the Deftones a number of times but sophomore year of college we drove like 10 hours to the 12/07/00 show in St. Louis...none of us had seen them for a couple of years besides Ozzfest 99 hence the long drive. After the show they stood out in the rain (drizzle) signing autographs until everyone had their "items" signed. Before the show we bumped into this record store where I bought a couple of deftones post cards. I bought two because I had to leave behind my newly found gf (still together 8 years later, having seen the deftones 20 or more times she's way cooler than I).
Anyways, all 5 of them (Frank was out there signing too) were very polite, stand up guys. My standard line was "Sorry I have a couple, my girl loves the Deftones but she wasn't able to be here." When I got to Chi I very distinctly remember him saying "No problem man, one for you and one for your girl. Have a good night."Comment

chi and frank are generally the most approachable guys in deftones. abe is cool too, but can be a little more antsy, like dino. drummers just have a little too much energy sometimes.
from my experience gavin's not always talkative, but he's never walked away from me when i've interacted with him. mark and dino have. and of course drew is always willing to talk.
anyways, somewhat good news: serious, but stable condition for chi...
