Machines to make a three peice work easier

So my band is a three piece... bass, guitar and drums. But we just purchased a micro-korg and its awesome. The modulator and the effects are freaking sweet. But our problem is is that ill either put the bass down and jam on the synth or ill pick the bass up and only hit root notes on the korg, if at all. So my question is, besides the obvious answer of get another bandmate, what machines like a handsonic, drum machines or a looper do you guys recommend for me and what kind of experiences have you had.
