Funny... I would say the same thing about Bush.

I was actually reading through a lot of the campaign material from 2000 the other day and came to realize how much Bush voters were lied to. The guy promised COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATISM. And HUMBLE FOREIGN POLICY. And a SIMPLER ECONOMY.

Though I guess "0" is pretty simple.

Yeah, I voted for the guy. Looking back on it, I wouldn't vote for him again, but I still wouldn't vote for Al Gore.

      Libertarian for me!

Looking back, that election was just a collection of shitty choices, all for their own reasons.

that depends on who is writing the biography, who defines "murder", and just exactly who they are talking to as witnesses. i believe it was napoleon who said "history is simply agreed upon fiction."

which is why history belongs somewhere between fiction and non-fiction.

At least there are 228 decently responsible people in Washington. Too bad none of them are running for President.

It seems to be entirely detached from the world most of us live in, regardless of how connected it really is. I recognize a failing market means higher prices, etc., but the market is freaking out because they're finding out that they're not just going to get a fucking blank check. So really I could care less how freaked out they are.. welcome to the reality the rest of us are dealing with.
real quick note - i give an indirect shit.

never owned a stock in my life, but my customers do . . .

not sure if you're still slinging drinks or not, brock, but i am & regardless of how well our local economy is going here, i've felt some backlash from this. granted, i've not lost near as much as the wealthier folk, but guess what? it still sucks & it's gonna suck for everyone pretty soon if for no other reason than trickle-down . . .

"Them Che t-shirts are like tie-dye to the revolution,
lets water down our ideas so we can all agree on one solution,
