  • OSI: a 3rd Album is coming soon

Kevin Moore just posted this on the Chroma Key website

I've been working with Jim on our third OSI album for several months now, slowly but surely. Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree) is playing drums on this one - he's nearly done tracking and it sounds great. Along with guitar, Jim is handling bass this time. I still get to sing but may get some help (more later).

"Free" was disappointing, but I'm still optimistic about what they can do.

it had like 3 songs that stood out..and the rest were either ok, or filler..mostly sounding like either Chroma Key demos or b-sides from FWX. I did kind of like the "Re:Free" remix EP tho.

Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) is to sing on 1 song.

not shocking given his connections with Steven Wilson who did the same on the 1st, but definitely more intriguing.

            From Mikael Akerfeldt's myspace page:

            Stockholm
            Hey guys!

In the middle of the N. American tour here.

For anyone interested I just wanted to confirm I have recorded vocals for a track due to be included on the forthcoming OSI record, as of yet untitled.
I was approached by Jim Matheos about the matter some time ago, and since I'm a fan of OSI I said "Sure"!

It's a very moody song and completely unlike anything I've ever done before. I wrote the lyrics and the vocal lines for the piece that I simply decided to call "Stockholm".

Don't know when it's going to be released, but it's coming out through Inside Out/SPV anyways...

OSI (Office of strategic influence) is a project led by Jim Matheos (Fates Warning) and Kevin Moore (Chroma Key, ex Dream Theater).

            Cheers

No, he's just not a fan of anything that doesn't revolve around him.

Tim Bowness of No-Man (1 of Steven Wilson's other projects) is also going to be a guest vocalist on 1 song).

                          some clips

the samples intrigue me with this, among other things on those clips.
