I'm a Compliance Quality Control Tester for Namco Bandai Games America. Each system has standards that all games must adhere to, so I test for those things specifically. I don't test for text or graphical errors as much as I test for the ability of the game to function within the systems parameters and abilities.
Sorry, I like my job, so I'm pretty careful to differentiate what I do opposed to normal QA. But yeah, surrounded by geeks, gamers and nerds all day, I tend to hear everything about video games and things of the like. It ends up being part of the job to know as much about video games as possible anyway.
I got to mess with it today. Some of my fears were confirmed, but there are things here and there that got me interested. I may have to pick this up... eventually.
The single player is basically the same GTA that's been out since GTA III, but the story is what does it for me (and some minor physics things). Other than that, the multiplayer is the most fun I've had on xbox live yet.
I tried playing halo 3 about 3 days ago after 2 months of not playing it, and my god are the kids on that game annoying as hell. In Call of Duty you get annoying kids every once and a while, as is with just about all online games, but in Halo 3 you get annoying 7-13 years olds that don't know how to shut up in just about every match.
i think GTA4 will quickly overtake halo 3 as the haven for foul mouthed underage idiots on Xbox Live. I was so annoyed last night that i left the lobby without even playing a match. I guess if their parents are dumb enough to let them play it, then they were bred to act that dumb.
I haven't had any unpleasant experiences as of yet. It's usually just "gangster" folk with the frequent use of "dawg" and "yo", etc. I really hope it isn't over run in the future like Halo 3 is with 12 year old foul mouths. If that happens, I'll have to go back to Call of Duty 4.
