I remember listening to the first album a lot when it came out but I haven't really kept up with them.

It's true, ppl either like the 1st album or the 2nd album more than the other. Their sound has evolved and I think it's turning for the better. Just the riffage in my opinion of the 1st record ("The Dream") is plain old post hardcore (not sure if I have the genre right). The 2nd album is a little skittish with the addition of a female "guest" vocalist with the semi-permanent female vocalist/keyboardist. I like most of the songs, a few songs w/the female vocals are ok...

Now about their recent live shows w/Breanne singing (and keyboarding), her vocals are off and not on all the time. A few of my friends have heard several of my bootlegs and have criticized her vocals for not being dead on... PLUS, Justin is/was dating Breanne to make things semi-complicated.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that Wayne is Justin's father. He did direct one of the Avenged Sevenfold's ballad song a 1/2 year ago... *shudder* He's done I think a couple or 1 of 2pac's videos, maybe... hmm... can't remember, but I'm sure he's directed a lot of mainstream videos.
