Just saw them open for The Birthday Massacre (FUCKING AWESOME LIVE BAND, BTW) on Friday and I'm probably going to see them again next Sunday at the Folsom Street Fair in SF.  Aimee Echo is so hot, she deserves to be the next Amy Lee.

            yes, she is smokin'
I've interviewed her and had my share of Aimee-hugs after the show. Now if only I can become a groupie....

Now as for the next Amy Lee. No. We don't need another goth-rock goddess.
I'd rather her be the next Shirley Manson.

              Minus the Bear
(just started getting into these guys over the past month... I had Menos el Oso on my hard drive for almost a year...)

              The Dears
              Pure Reason Revolution

By no means my favourite bands, just what I've been listening to recently - mostly laidback stuff.
Very much looking forward to the new Thrice in a few weeks.

Would you say that Salival is worth the steep price I'm going to have to pay if I ever buy it?

hell no. ;only if you are a serious collector.

then again, you didn't ask me.  sorry.

                          Added after 1 minutes:

i think it's awesome how minus the bear has slowly crept into so many dredg fans' favorite bands over the past couple of years.

                          awesome awesome awesome.

i wish they would tour together.

dredg's touring partners have been pretty subpar lately....

The thing that finally got me to check out Minus the Bear was actually a comment in the liner notes of Vheissu by Teppei, about a pretty cool guitar part.  He said something along the lines of "This was my attempt at sounding like Minus the Bear"

It would definitely be cool to see them play together. I've never seen a band I actually like open for dredg... although lots of great ones have.

a minus the bear/dredg tour would be ace. they both have that atmosphereic sound; so it's beyond me why they haven't considered it yet.

Don't you dare apologize.  I love your posts.  Anyone with as awesome an avatar as you have can give me any opinions he/she wants. :-)

I don't consider myself a "collector," but there are some groups that I like so much that I want to own everything they ever did, and Tool is one of them.  The last time I looked, I found Salivar on Amazon, used, for around 100.00.  I doubt the prices will get any cheaper.  So I'm torn.
