i was hesitant to put yndi halda on it due to its length. i am glad you enjoyed it! maybe i will make another one in the near future. but, really, the silent ballet compilations should suffice. however, even those pretentious jerks do not get all the good bands.

I finally took the time to listen to this mix. I enjoyed every song, auto. It's just gorgeous, and Yndi Halda reminds me of Explosions in the Sky. Thank you very much! Clearly, post-rock and I get along.

There's a song on one of those called Discrete Mathematics... I loved that class.

I'm almost done with the first CD, and although it's not really the field of music I normally enjoy, I've really enjoyed this mix so far. Thanks!

There are definitely some "eh" songs on there.... but I wanted to make 2 decently sized CDs, so I couldn't cut anybody out.

I Am The Avalanche - I Took A Beating: I love all glassJaw side projects.
Letter Kills - Whatever It Takes: I used to be into these guys until I listened to their albums...lost interest pretty quickly.
Mad At Gravity - Historypeats: YES! Love these guys. If they were still a band they'd be where Codeseven would be if they stayed together...(sigh)
The Color Red - Intro/Season: Never got into them...kinda boring
Eisley - Many Funerals: They don't get enough credit because they tour with emo acts and associate with Taking Back Sunday (bleach!). But they draw influence from Sunny Day Real Estate and that's always a plus in my book.
Amanda Rogers - Daily News: Love her! This song alone is worth the download!
Chase Pagan - Time To Myself: I'm starting to enjoy his tunes...
Cloud Cult - Happy Hippo: Ya know, I like what I hear but I still can't commit a long period of time toward listening to them. Hopefully that'll change.
Audiovent - Underwater Silence: Wow, I remember these guys. Incubus without the DJ...nuff said.
    Injected - I - IV - V: eh, Alt-rock garbage from my nu-metal days. Bad memories.
Firescape - The Way You Are: Saw them open for Saves the Day. Nothing special.
A - Nothing: Now here's a band that you see in the Used CD bin across America. Didn't they have a song called Starbucks?
In Pieces - Like Angels On The Verge Of Suicide: Good Band. Good song. Good Choice.
Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster - Tough As John Jacobs: They've always reminded me of a better Everytime I Die (not a difficult thing to do).

Okay. That's my assessment of the bands I know. I haven't heard of the rest of the bands you put on these mixes. However, I liked the last one you did (minus Static Lullaby and a few others). So I'm going to give these a listen. Yay new music!

Thanks kata, I want to hear yours too. Mine is going to be 2cd but it's still going to be pretty narrow-minded with some people even getting 3-4 tracks. It's kind of hard to avoid that with Doomtree/Doomtree-related material. Saul Williams, Aesop Rock, MC Lars, Cage, Sage Francis, RJD2 and many others are all fine by me but I think I'm just going to focus on Twin Cities stuff.

I lied...MC Lars is already on there.

I'm right behind ya. I have a mix made and ready with hip-hop songs that will hopefully change the mind of a few hip-hop skeptics. But I agree with you that only good rap was produced in the late 80s/early 90s. But where's the love for J Dilla, Little Brother, and the new Pharoahe Monch?
I look forward to what you have in store empty.
