This is one album wich I definately won't be running out and get the day it's released... I did that with FTM because Deloused knocked my socks off, and continues to do so.. Boy was I dissapointed, I've only listened to the album in full, 3 times

I saw them open up for APC in 2003 or 2004 I think it was, and they did a great job. It was before FTM and they just played a four or five song set and did an amazing job. Then I saw them on a headline show after FTM came out and for the first time ever at any concert I found myself wanting to sit down.

ditto, I saw them open for SOAD, and although they were kickass for the first song or so (out of about a 4 or 5 song set) it got boring to listen to. Come to think of it, I was more mesmerized by the backdrops then the band playing :roll:

I doubt they will ever make an album nearly as good as Deloused. But that would be quite an acomplishment.

i really like the mars volta but seeing them live made me for the first time ever at a concert want to put in ear plugs. if they just toned down the annoying high pitched sounds the show would have been much much better. my ears were hurting for a while after that show. i've been to tons and tons of shows and no band has ever hurt my ears.

And apparently if you try to do anything but sit patiently (or perhaps do a slight dance of enchantment) and gape in awe at their performance you get an entire crowd giving you the evil eye.

thought the last show I saw them they were the best or "tightest" so-to-speak when they opened for SOAD. Frankly, the SOAD crowd were pretty fucking naive writing them off..IMO they kicked SOAD's ass. The previous 2 shows I saw of TMV they did some cool things, the sound was crap and it was a bit too chaotic. Maybe a shorter set helped?..I was wanting more when they finished..mind you, i also had earlier tried to win free U2 tickets and wanted to see them too which fell on the very same evening unfortunately.

In/Casino/Out will always be better to me than Relationship of Command. So suck it. Haha. :P
