Is dredg familiar with the works of Quinn or deep ecology?

Daniel Quinn, author of Ishmael and The Story of B, writes about how most humans lost the values, ethics and knowledge of their tribal ancestors, and since, have lived at odds with the Earth and outside the laws of basic ecology. The repeated line We live like penguins in the desert. Why can't we live like tribes? seems to echo these sentiments. I have always been curious as to whether or not any of these concepts were the inspiration for that. Thanks! peace -stephen

i have read these novels...........great literature.
