  • Surround Sound System

got one for chrstmas. 800 watts of power. 5 speakers. wonderful static-free sound. 5-disc cd/dvd changer w/ vhs.

so to celebrate i put in el cielo...

i was impressed. plus it felt like the 1st time i've heard it. great feeling.

afterwards i followed with Clann Zu - Black Coats and Bandages, Bjork - Vespertine, and Sigur Ros - ()

any recommendations? I plan on trying Dark Side of the Moon, Illinois (Sufjan Stevens), the Winged Migration Soundtrack, and The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place (Explosions in the Sky).

The best recording I've heard on my surround sound system, was a live recording of explosions in the sky I got from Archive.org.. I can't remember wich though :/

Play The Gathering | Souvenirs. So many sounds on that album that you wont catch the first or even tenth time you listen. Plus their song "Broken Glass" is dredg-core.

Is the copy of El Cielo that you Christened it with the SACD version? I'm dying to get a copy of that, but I don't have an SACD player.

Anyways, I suggest you give Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots or the Akira score a try on there. Akira is a religious experience. YBtPR is just damn good.
