Koenjihyakkei

This group is not for the frail and weak. Their avant-garde prog opera might scare you if you're not prepared. Their music is wild and energetic at the same time wonderfully composed and melodic. I discovered them this week by comparisions to Magma, which their work is directly inspired by. I would however say their music reminds me more of Naked City. Only they beat the shit out of both those bands. This year they released a rerecorded version of their 2001 album Nivraym. The most apparent change being the addition of reed instrument. FUCK, IT KICKS ASS!
