I think a lot of us live too far away to go, although I would love to.

The event was last night. Pretty cool. Dredg had an acoustic setup.

Rushdie read some passages from one of his books, I don't remember the name. Once he finished that Dredg joined him on stage. Then he read his essay to the 6 billionth person. Near the end Dredg played Stamp Of Origin: Horizon as background music to Rushdie's reading.

Upon completion he left the stage and Dredg played 5 songs:
                Pariah
                Lightswitch
                Ornament
                Information
                Cartoon Showroom

Highlights: The Ornament was a full version with complete lyrics according to them the first time they've played it live. Rushdie seemed to really get into Information - unfortunately they played it without the bridge. Dino is an awesome musician. Although he didn't have his drums, he brought his sticks and drummed against the side of his keyboard during a couple songs.

After Dredg played Rushdie came back on stage and there was a Q&A session. A bunch of people left before this part which I couldn't understand. It was really interesting and Dredg mentioned that they're hoping to do some full album shows on the east coast - or possibly even do a tour where they play albums from beginning to end. Finally everyone moved to a merch table area where you could buy books/posters and have them signed. I left at this point so I don't know how that went.

Spin magazine was recording the whole thing and I think they'll be putting it on their website. Additionally they said to check today because they would have a contest where you can win an acoustic guitar signed by all of Dredg and Rushdie.

Anyone else there? What did you guys think?

in regards to the playing full album and tour i was the one who asked them the ?, whether they would consider playing the ppd in full in concert and if not could they treat the east coast to something like they did out west, gavin responded by saying basically yes to everything and maybe even touring doing full album shows, think it was the highlight of the night if they hold up to it!!!

Thanks for the review .. sounds like a pretty cool show. I kind of find the thought of Rushdie getting into 'Information' to be pretty hilarious.
