possibly cool idea

I am sure someone has thought of this before but I thought it would be a cool idea for Dredg to do: One of their stops on the tour for the new album (probably one of the 40 California dates) the band could offer up the chance where everyone votes for the setlist that they will play with any song out of their entire catalog of songs being available to choose from (even off Orph if they choose). Let everyone vote for like 5 songs or something and the ones that get the most votes are played by the band, possibly even put in the option for them to play them acoustically or electrically? Dunno, just an idea, what do you all think? It could even get really creative and have the option to choose what special instrument could be used in the song that havn't been used for the song.

Anyway, I'm going to have to submit my votes now:

1. Running Through Propellors
2. Halong Bay
3. The Papal Insignia
4. Juggernaut
5. On Again, Off Again (I know they said they retired it, but I still love the song.)

On Again, Off Again is possibly my least favorite dredg song of all time.. even considering most of the Conscious demo. If that had made CWA, I would have punched you in the face.

On again, Off again is a great song! It's better than some CWA songs imo. It's really sad, that we will never hear it in better quality or even live.

This public voting could work, if dredg gives a pool of songs they would play.
They would never play an Orph song or El Cielo Blueprint live and that's a really sad fact.

But I also think that dredg always tries to bring change (remix songs, change setlist order*, play new instrumentals) in their live concerts (and they succeed, that's why we love them).

*They played Canyon directly after the opener ode to the sun in Stuttgart, where I saw them live. What a beautiful memory.

This is just my opinion, but I don't think this is a good idea. Maybe for a band that plays 'songs' but dredg is not that kind of band. Plus requesting dredg to play Juggernaut and On Again, Off Again is like asking Radiohead to play anything off Pablo Honey. There's just so many better songs they can play.

Also, with a new album coming out. I just want to hear the new stuff.

On a side note too, On Again, Off Again is horrible on so many levels.

This is just my opinion, but I don't think this is a good idea. Maybe for a band that plays 'songs' but dredg is not that kind of band. This is where we disagree. Pablo Honey is the only Radiohead album that I don't turn off after 3 songs. To each his own, I guess.
