    Re: Treasure Hunt: Clue #1

I can just leave work if I have to, but I'd rather it not be for an extended period of time... like, days, haha...

well this isn't helping right now http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html ... but maybe later into more clues it will...
      ---
dont know if you need to take days off... we don't even have an idea of what this clue is...

first thing first.. lets get an idea what this means...
      ---
i even went back to the day of pager code... doesn't look like it translates to anything... the 2 would be either a Z or Q... doesnt really fall in the right spots..

      still trying
      ---
tried letters on a phone key pad too.. doesn't appear to get anything.. to many 1's and 0's ...
      ---
i was re reading the specs on this hunt... it almost sounds like the clue doesnt lead to another clue... sounds like they send out clues weekely..
i'm still having a hard time figuring out how this all will work out...

So maybe we solve all of them and put them together? Or maybe the clues are solved when they are put together?

I think at this point, we just don't know enough. We probably need more of the clues to actually get somewhere with this...

Unless you can find some kind of context for this. It's looking like we may not be getting anything out of this...

Didn't NIN do something with numbers for Year Zero viral marketing? Ip addresses? It has to be built into the albums theme I would imagine.

                    What I've thought...

                    Numbers where Latitude Longitude somehow.
Number to Alphabet translation; didn't really find anything
Thought I could use the numbers to pick out letters in the "Thank You"s in the booklet. Nothing.
The ? breaks the number into two 28 digit numbers, which can be broken into 4 groups of 7 each. Which really means nothing...

I have no idea where to take this...

                    ---

I don't know if this is the start of a pattern that I can't figure out or if it's nothing...

In the first half of the number you will find 1's. The first 1 is separated by the second 1 by four digits, the next by three digits, the next by two digits, the next by one digit then the pattern ends and ruins any theory...

...still no idea where to approach this...

I've been counting the letters in each song title and that is getting me nowhere.
                      sorry.
good thinking but not quite right

                        Re: Treasure Hunt: Clue #1

Is there any sort of math that works with 18 cities?

57 digits (including the "?") / 3 (digits in an area code) = 19 (cities?)

...maybe we should look at which tour they were realistically able to place each clue in different states and figure out exactly which states the "treasure" is possible in first... Though just because they didn't play in that state doesn't mean they didn't pull off on the side of the road somewhere in between...

Bare in mind, Drew set up the previous LONG before it was ever started... Drew could have been setting this up a really long time ago. Especially since they had expected to put out an album way before 2009.

Just saying it could have been multiple tours.
