But... Agoo is so much shorter =)

It's true, though: acid/shrooms make you WAY smarter than anyone around you who isn't also on acid/shrooms (but if they're on one and you're on the other, you are definitely smarter than them. After all, they're the idiot who chose one over the other when you CLEARLY chose the right expander).

I must be thinking of a different similar board...

So what's the problem with my criticism then?

I think people getting out of their mind(s) is stupid, yet, I come here... and it's edited/blocked. Why? People can judge things on their own. No more than what I'm saying is what you would be saying as well.

I'm really not in the negative dump that you may presume. I have been promoting the upcoming album alot. So anyone that assumes something without a solid foundation can fuck off.

All of that, and I'm not even bending rules. Before, I was acting like an idiot all the time, now it's just a third of the time. The rest of the time is everyone scampering abouting, picking up the pieces...

          Most of you are sheep.

          You go with the flow.

          Lame.

          Whatever floats your boat though.

Personally, I have nearly 75 show lined up before the end of the year, and many of them may be cancelled at this point. I could care less about little message board rumor patrols, etc.

          Bunch of whiny babies.

          Nothing more.

They add an adjective next to their responses and they feel like they're Superman.

          Enjoy, morons.

He's talking about the fanboys here that feel some need to be dredg's Prince Charming and protect them from all criticism. It's pretty laughable. I actually agree with Ooga this time. I'm sure the guys are well-aware that not everyone will love the album, and as long as a person isn't just being contrary, they'll respect your opinion every bit as much as some twerp that says "I love every song you have ever played."
I don't have the time it takes to recover from the day
I sit and moan and mope and groan and never have my say
A crown of thorns from which is born a little baby bird
To fly away and have its day is nothing but absurd

I don't really know anyone that loves every song the band has ever played, and I think you're creating a bit of a straw man here. I have no problem with people disliking anything this band puts out. At some point, though, it stops being about whether or not people like the music and starts to devolve into personal attacks. I'm not sure what the point was for trying to mock Zach taking acid, especially when he's contributed more to this community in terms of live recordings, media, and information than about 99% of posters (I didn't edit Agoo's post, though, for the record).

Constructive discussions are one thing but this board doesn't really excel at that any more. No, it's mostly just arguments over who has the best personal definition of "good" music and why Suicide Girls are asking to be objectified.

I actually do love every song the band has ever played. I tried thinking of one I didn't love but there's none.

I find no shame in being a fanboy.

                        Re: Chuckles and Mr. Squeezy

I'm sure Billy will drop in at some point and explain why he deleted Agoo's posts, which amounted to mostly avant-garde spam. But the broader picture is: this is not the type of community most of us want anymore, and there's no reason to let it fester on the principle of open dialogue. People have every right to think this band sucks, but at a certain point it stops being a worthwhile discussion for the purposes of this board.

I'll be happy to double check with Jon and Josh, who are responsible for this boards creation and ongoing cost, respectively, as to whether or not my position on this jives with their perspective. But once upon a time I really enjoyed coming here to hear the opinions and insight from people across the world on a group of artists I really enjoyed. I don't think it does any good for this to turn to a support group for people that want to feel justified in their dislike of the band or a new record. It's okay if you don't like dredg anymore, or their new record, or anything related to it. It's not okay if you don't have anything more productive to say.

I only deleted the posts I felt were leading to problems between you and lainey and the post that obnoxiously filled the thread with "posers". Two posts. Trust me, neither was a nugget of wisdom. Your point, whatever it is, hasn't been lost. Get over it.

I was under the impression the posts were deleted as they were pretty much direct insults to other board members, myself to Agoo, him to Zach. My responses were a pretty blunt way of portraying how his acid rant was not particularly necessary, but I don't think I was alone in my thinking.

I don't personally have any problem with anyone using any sort of stimulant to enhance any experience, but it confuses me how some people seem to perceive the usage as a necessity of enjoyment for the people who use them... and I don't see the point in trying to make someone look stupid because of it. I bet when Agoo goes out with his friends they might enjoy a beer or two, doesn't mean it wouldn't be fun without alcohol, or that they're a bunch of alcoholics, it's just something fun to do.

I imagine the new album will sound amazing when I'm fucked, and amazing when I'm not, sheep-fanboy assumptions aside.

Well, my response was 50% mock and 50% truth. I didn't realize it was part of a larger, stupid topic.

In other news, I had a friend listen to TToLY and she loved it. She has never heard dredg before, and she said it should be on the radio, because it makes her want to dance. Glad the new music will bring in new fans.
