That's incredible, Buddy. Thank you for posting it,and thank you Ars for fixing the link.

Around 1996-97, I went to one of those events that astronomers put on, where they let you look at the moon and Venus through their telescopes, and someone was giving a lecture about these images from Hubble. I sat in on it, and she showed those photographs (they were black and white though), and when she said that all of the points of light were galaxies, I kind of freaked out right there. Everyone had just nodded, but I said loudly, "Are you serious? Those are all galaxies??!?" And she was startled by my outburst and said yes.

I was embarrassed that I'd kind of shrieked, but damn. I couldn't stop myself from reacting.

yes but what we do is important to ourselves. Kinda how religion can act as a crutch to those who fear death and that their lives don't matter or have purpose, the only thing you need to worry about is having as an enjoyable life as you possibly can.
