Re: Finding new music
Cool. Feel free to invite people you know on FB who might be interested. No real genres. Anything people like and want to discuss or suggest is fair game. It's just supposed to be a place to show a love of music.

Re: Finding new music
I've been loving King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard lately. Also, not sure if he's been mentioned, but Jonathan Wilson is fantastic.

Re: Finding new music
I trawl through http://kingdom-leaks.com and do a bit of try-before-I-buy there *cough*! I just cross check the genre and whether I'd like to dabble in that and go from there, they post bandcamp/physical links and YouTube vids so you can check it out before downloading.
Getting more legal: http://boards.vinylcollective.com/ is good for discussion and finding out about latest releases.
I know a lot of people use Spotify/Apple Music as it creates recommendations based on what you listen to, but I don't want to be locked into streaming services so it's not something I can chat about, but maybe give that a shot too?

Re: Finding new music
Now defunct, but The Baltic Sea was a fantastic band, kind of like Yes meets Cave In with more post-rock elements or something. Their second and final album, Period Piece is my favorite.

Anything in the family tree of projects that came out of The Coma Lilies, a rad instrumental band out of Santa Rosa. All their members are prolific AF. Some highlights:
The Coma Lilies: https://thecomalilies.bandcamp.com/
Guitarist Hunter Ellis solo stuff, featuring most of the CL members: https://hunterellis.bandcamp.com/alb...er-of-laughter
Drummer Gabe Katz' stuff: https://gabekatz1.bandcamp.com/
Horders, the current project of their bassist and drummer, a little more stripped down: https://www.facebook.com/Hordersband/
Cash Pony: Gabe's other main band, kind of a 70s prog/Mahavishnu vibe: https://cashpony.bandcamp.com/
