And look at how much damage one guy with a couple of guns was able to do in Norway. Imagine if those campers had been locked and loaded. 7 casualties, including the perp. I do think our laws are lax on assault rifles and some high-powered rifles (there is no legitimate reason for me to own a Barrett M107), but the Right to Bear Arms has a very real importance. The right is intended to protect you FROM the government. When only the government owns guns, you are a very small step away from a military state.

And Baton Rouge wins again! The Iranian-American arrested in the attempted assassination of the Saudi minister graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge. He did only "graduate" from Southern after just 1 year there.

You say that jokingly, but I think the history of the United States justifies that belief. We, as a country, learned early on that the people that are supposed to govern will screw you and rob you with gun in hand.

Tell me this, do YOU trust the US government? Europeans are quick to point out how evil the US government is in their military exploits abroad. Yet I'm supposed to trust them in my own home?

Also, it's not a gun thing, it's an American thing. Look at the accessibility to guns in Canada relative to the number of murders there. I'll give you a hint: It's just as easy, but they have far fewer.

I know, I'm just a shithead sometimes. I don't have a gun. I don't like guns. I am a pretty decent shot, though, strangely enough.

I'm listening to my boss's former band. He came over from Japan a few years ago, and I guess over there he's pretty well known. They're not bad, actually. Japanese shoegaze. But it is kind of weird. I'd known him for a couple of months before actually listening to his band. So... knowing the person and then hearing the music... it's just a weird experience. I'm sure some of you have experienced the same in some way. They're called Walrus. He was the singer/guitarist. He asked me not to listen to it.

Okay, I do agree to a certain extent that it is a deterrence of criminal activity, but if my home is being invaded, I'd like to have a 9.

I honestly think my previous statement is the most relevant argument. I do not want our government being the only people with guns.

Game testing again, since late July. I didn't want to go back to game testing, but I needed a job. At the very least, they're being extremely flexible with my upcoming school schedule, and letting me take two days off a week for classes. It pays crap, but it's better than sitting in a drive thru window all day.
