  • Grizzly Bear -- Veckatimest

This album leaked last night, so naturally i went ahead and downloaded it.

It is an amazing album, top 10 of the decade... if it remains as good with time as it is good right now (a day old)

Has anyone here heard it yet? Anyone interested?

I would recommend this album to Dredg fans, they are similar in strange ways.

      uh-- no.

it sounds fine, don't be a snob.

tillybot added 1 Minutes and 48 Seconds later...

If this is really considered a "bad rip," then good for Grizzly Bear.

      Cause it sounds good.

lol, don't tell me to not be discerning about the quality of the music in my collection, that has no relation to you in anyway.

The album is fucking awesome, and it will sound even more amazing once it's ripped correctly, so I wasn't arguing with you there. I was just lamenting the transcode.

Plus, i do have a good rip of it from work, that i do not want to be responsible for leaking.

I'm sure it'll be out soon though.

And when I say a good rip, i mean 256k.

I compared it to the leak i downloaded on what.cd and there really isn't much of a difference.

Plus, the one i downloaded from what.cd last night said it was 256, but was removed shortly after i downloaded it.

what bit-rate is this supposed "bad rip"

Buy the CD. Support the band. Don't complain about bad quality.

256, but I can hear the chorus ring on the symbols of a bad rip. and I don't think I said anything about not planning to buy the cd ARS, don't lecture me when you've got no idea what I plan on doing. fucking groms

                Bitrate != quality

especially when transcoding comes into the picture

anyway, this is just meant as a recommendation thread.
I don't think many people here listen to Grizzly Bear.

As dredg fans, Grizzly Bear is worth the time.

                  Most certainly.

I've seen Grizzly Bear live once.
I found them to be really boring

                    I wish I didn't though

Well i recommend hearing their new album, then go back to the album they released in 2006.

they can come across as boring sometimes, but they grow on you.

                        just do it!!!

Saw Grizzly Bear in 06 or 07. Great live band.
