    Re: Singers

Justin Mauriello of Zebrahead was one of my fave singers. Too bad he left...'cause the band sucks now.

    Aimee Echo rocks too...

Burn Piano Island, Burn is one of the best hardcore albums put out in the last 6 or 7 years.

Ok, that's it. I've heard about this band too much on this board. I'm going to check them out. If anyone wants to share a file or two from an album you like, that'd be great. Then I won't have to "buy blind."

Or just suggest an album. I trust you.

                    Re: Singers

Their latest is the most beautiful, Brother, Sister. They are very openly Christian, so a lot of their lyrics are about God.

                    Nice And Blue (Pt. 2) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnILGJn7y9Q
                    January 1979 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5R8y4NxPdSs
                    Paper Hanger - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WEFeVxP7Qw

And the best performance I've ever seen of one of their top songs, In A Sweater Poorly Knit

The first song and the live one are from Brother, Sister. The middle 2 are from Catch For Us The Foxes.

And Bullet to Binary (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8XCDi2x50k) from their first CD.

Man, I forgot how beautiful "Paper Hanger" is.

haha! That's fantastic. I'd love to see them live.

So you recommend Brother, Sister? Thank you!

                        Re: Singers

Yeah. I would probably go in reverse chronological order with them. Catch For Us The Foxes is great, but it does not even compare to Brother, Sister. And I enjoy [A-->B] Life but it's not even close to the others.

My spouse just came in the room and asked who I'm listening to. Good sign! :-)

I'm listening to "Paper Hanger" right now. Damn, this music is good. It's rich and complex.

But really, would he be considered a "singer"? He kind of speaks his lyrics.

                          Aww. I love him.

No, it's not like Buddy Wakefield, is it? But is it singing? Would you categorize it as singing? Or something else?

                              Whatever it is, it's wonderful.
