I've been meaning to get 30STM's first album ever since it came out but still haven't gotten around to it yet. Wow. And based on the singles I've heard from the 2nd album, I think I'll stay away from that one.Comment

OK, I finally listened to their first album, and yes, I can see why so many were disappointed in the second one. It's just a completely different sound. It's rock, and it's gorgeous, and it's very innovative, especially keeping in mind that it debuted in 2002.
Damn.
A Beautiful Lie is an extreme change in sound from this first album. I think that if I'd heard this first, I'd have some harsh criticism toward the second album. I mean, ABL doesn't suck, and I'll still enjoy it occasionally (if only for Leto's stunning voice), but I much, much prefer this first album. I do understand everyone's strong feelings about this.Comment
