  • Tool Wins Another Grammy

Tool won another Grammy for Best Recording Package... Somehow, they lost  in Best Hard Rock Performance though.... How the fuck did that happen?

Because it's the Grammy's. The only award show that doesn't actually give their awards to the best of anything.

Didn't Deftones get a Grammy for Best Metal Performance - "Elite" - in 2001?  What a joke.

exactly . . . hands down the worst song the deftones had ever written (up to that point) and they win a grammy for it . . .

        bullshit!

not really a problem since tool isn't the best of anything.

              Added after 2 minutes:

zach braff won a grammy for making a mix cd of a bunch of hip artists who have not and probably never will win a grammy.

              hardly seems fair.

would have made sense if they gave it to them for the entire white pony album, even though it can hardly be considered metal, not that it matters.

hopefully that tool remark was a joke. Cuz the only band that puts on a better show than our beloved dredg band is tool... beleive it or not.

Not to get shit started, but I wouldn't say that Dredg puts on a good show.  They just have really good sound when they perform.

Never said that they were. Just pointing out that the Grammy's don't determine talent, just popularity.

A few years back, Jethro Tull won a grammy in the metal category...

                            disagreed.

                            in more ways than one.

i'm not sure what else tool has besides good sound that makes their show any better, aside from boring videos in the background.

even though dredg doesn't have the most amazing live antics, i would say that dino's energy alone is enough to say that they put on a good show.

i love watching dredg because you can see their passion when they're up there . . . sure, i like watching super energetic bands, but sometimes it looks so forced . . .

and tool . . . hardly any stage presence . . . i like watching danny & sometimes maynard runs around and does stuff, but for most of the time, they just stand there & let the videos do the work.

both bands sound incredible live, though . . . but i'd take a dredg show over tool any day . . .

oh well, just another opinion based conversation anyhow
