SXSW and dredg

Well, this is going to peak interest but it's really not what you may think. Let me explain.

So, as everyone knows, dredg played SXSW this year. Ok, so far you should be with me. Now, every year, someone puts together a torrent with a song (single perhaps?) from each artist who played. So, as usual, I got this year, to get a taste of what's out there, which a lot, yes, is garbage. I went to see if dredg was included and for some reason, they were left out? I know they played but why would they be left out?

Theyre definitely one of the highlights, I'd say, but I've never been to SXSW so maybe there's a reason with the venue or the labels, or SOMETHING.

Anyone care to share some info and shed some light onto this?

The torrent is made from all songs posted on SXSW's website. Dredg [and many of the "larger" acts] don't have their songs included on the website.

So the reason they weren't in the torrent is because they weren't on the website, but the reason they weren't on the website was? Just curious, doubt anybody really knows this one.

SXSW generally uses their website to promote unsigned artists.

I think last time they won the audience award or something like that, too, so they were available. I remember reading something about that. Rolling Stone? Blender? One of the music mags.

Every time a friend of mine goes to SXSW, they come back and tell me never to go to SXSW cause it sucks.
