I've been in hiding

Does anyone else smell that? It's the smell of rotting flesh and fly babies. It creeps into my dreams and kicks me unsuspecting. Never again will I allow this hollow body to press me into the bed and suffocate me with imagination. Set down the hose from the hookah and join me in this common ground where whispers pierce our ears and screams fall into silence.

I don't have the time it takes to recover from the day
I sit and moan and mope and groan and never have my say
A crown of thorns from which is born a little baby bird
To fly away and have its day is nothing but absurd
